We are sad to report that we lost another one of our contemporaries – Phil Ziegelbaum died very early in the morning of Friday, 2 May 2025.
Many of you know that Phil was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a while back, and it was complications (sepsis & pneumonia) layered atop the underlying cancer that resulted in his demise.
Phil joined E-Systems in April of 1982 and lasted through the subsequent mergers and acquisitions until January of 2016 (almost 34 years). Since he passed away at the age of 70½ (you do the math), Phil dedicated very nearly half his life to ensuring the success of projects at mother “E”
Phil’s wishes were to be cremated without any service. He wrote his own obituary which is online at the Restland Funeral Home website here:
Philip Alan Ziegelbaum
Please understand that Phil valued his friendship with each of us. In his words, “What kept me at E-Systems/Raytheon for nearly 34 years … teams of highly skilled and motivated people that did challenging work, often accomplishing the near impossible. It was working with those teams of special people that has kept me at this job for so long. Oddly enough, it was the times when we had a major project and/or delivery and worked those insanely long hours that I remember most fondly, because we had a goal in mind and we worked together to do whatever it took to cross that goal line as a team.”
Till our paths cross again …
