Phil Ziegelbaum
May 2, 2025

From Susan Harrison, Phil Ziegelbaum’ s long time friend:
All, this is Susan writing to inform you that Phil Ziegelbaum died very early Friday morning (5/2/2025, 70 years old) while trying to regain strength (from having sepsis and pneumonia) in a therapy hospital. Of course, the primary reason was his Pancreatic Cancer.
He, fortunately, died in his sleep. I was with him the day before. He was unhappy about not being at home and feeling very weak. Nevertheless, he was still Phil – trying to make a joke or being sure to say “thank you” to anyone who came in to check on him. He had told me that if he had an on/off switch, he would use it – I think he willed the switch off.
His wishes were to be cremated without any service.

Hoping all of you know that Phil valued his friendship with each of you!

Rose Melton
May 5, 2025

Rose Marie Williams Melton passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, in McKinney, Texas, just five days shy of her 88th birthday. Born in Wood County on May 10, 1937, Rose was the daughter of Herman and Hazel Williams.
After graduating from Woodrow Wilson in 1955, she attended the University of Texas at Austin and later began a successful 35-year career as an executive secretary for E-Systems in Garland, retiring in 1993.
On November 26, 1965, Rose married the love of her life, Ray Emory Melton in Honolulu Hawaii. They shared 50 wonderful years together before his passing in 2016. The couple made their home in Garland for over two decades before retiring to Hainesville, where they spent many beloved years. In her later years, Rose moved to Frisco to be closer to her children.
Faith was an important part of Rose’s life. She was a longtime member of St. Davids Episcopal church in Garland, Texas and later after moving back to Mineola, St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church. She also participated in many events with family at Hainesville Baptist Church.
Rose had a passion for quilting and loved spending time at Stitchin’ Heaven, participating in quilting events and gatherings. She also worked part-time for the Mineola Monitor after retirement. An avid reader and genealogy enthusiast, she spent countless hours researching family history and sharing stories with loved ones.
Above all, Rose adored her family. Her grandchildren lovingly called her “Granny,” and her warmth, wit, and wisdom will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Hazel Williams; husband, Ray Emory Melton; sister, LaNelle Davis; brother, Johnny Williams; and nephews, Shep Kidd and Mike Kidd and niece Cindy Williams Crook.
She is survived by her two children, Melanie Melton Parks and husband John of Lavon, and Danny Melton and wife Merydith of Prosper; four grandchildren, Katherine Marie Parks, Peyton Elizabeth Parks, Emmery Grace Melton, and Landry Rose Melton; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A graveside service is planned for this Saturday, 24 May at 11:00 a.m. at Concord Cemetery with Brother Fred Morrow officiating. If you are planning to make the short, two-hour drive out to beautiful east Texas to attend, please heed the following, since both the map and the text directions provided by the funeral home are in error (the former takes you closer to Quitman and the latter takes you to Hainesville):
Concord Cemetery is located across the street from Hubbard Chapel Baptist Church at the southwest corner of the intersection of FM 778 and FM 2590 (5.3 miles SE of Quitman and 1.8 miles NW of Hainesville on FM 778). Despite the current Metroplex weather, Saturday’s forecast in Quitman calls for clear skies with temperatures in the low to mid 80’s.

Thomas Dwain Peterman Obituary
Thomas Dwain Peterman, known affectionately by friends and family as Pete, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, in Henderson, Texas, at the age of 94. Born on May 6, 1930, in Fort Worth, Texas, Pete lived a full life marked by dedication to his family, his country, and his work.
Pete was a proud Air Force veteran who served his country with honor before embarking on a 30-year career at E-Systems, where he was known for his intelligent and analytical approach to every task. His commitment to his job was paralleled only by his devotion to his family and his passion for the outdoors.
After retiring, Pete could frequently be found on his boat at Lake Grapevine, fishing for bass, a pastime that brought him immense joy and relaxation. Those quiet moments on the water were a treasure to him, as was the time spent in his favorite chair, keeping up with current events on Fox News or watching his favorite team the Texas Rangers play baseball.
Pete was the beloved patriarch of his family, which included his dearly departed wife, Juanita, with whom he shared many loving years. He was a guiding force in the lives of his sons, Lyman and Mark, and took great pride in his role as a grandfather to Lacy, Cory, and Mark Jr., and as a great-grandfather to Mason, Olivia, and Sadie.
Though he was the last of his generation, having been preceded in death by his siblings Jack, Don, Dorris, Glenn, and Jamie, he is survived by his brother Carol, who, along with the rest of the family, will miss him deeply.
Pete’s journey began in Walnut Springs High School, where he laid the foundation for a life of learning and service. His education there instilled in him the values of discipline and respect, which he carried with him throughout his life.
To those who knew him, Pete was more than just a summary of his life’s milestones. He was a source of strength, a beacon of integrity, and a repository of memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of his loved ones. His legacy is one of love, hard work, and the quiet dignity with which he carried himself every day.
As we bid farewell to Thomas Dwain Peterman, we celebrate a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and a legacy that will continue to inspire. Pete’s memory will be cherished, and his influence will be felt for generations to come.
The family of Thomas Dwain Peterman wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all who have shared in Pete’s journey and who have been a part of his remarkable life. His story may have reached its conclusion, but the chapters he wrote in the lives of those he touched will continue to be read and remembered.
Thomas Dwain Peterman, “Pete,” will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May he rest in peace, knowing that his was a life truly well-lived He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Funeral services for Pete will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 3, 2025, in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Irving. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 AM until service time Saturday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens following the service.

Medical Claims for reimbursement can be mailed to:

This info was posted on our Facebook group.
Alight has a benefits “Gateway” website that will be used for benefits administration. If you haven’t created an account yet go to www.alight.com to do so. Scroll all the way down to the bottom. Click on “Find Your HR Website” and type in RAYTHEON under “Who is your employer?”. This will pop up a link to www.yourtotalrewards.com/rtx and select “New user?”. The “New user?” selection links to a couple of identifying questions and then steps you through the account setup. It recognized me and I was able to set up my account so I could create my profile and preferences. They had my old employee email address in my profile and I had to call Alight to get that corrected (800-243-8135). Be sure to check your beneficiary information. This was blank for me so I corrected that. Also, if you are married, your personal information probably transferred over as single. This would cause any medical reimbursement claims for your spouse to be denied. Call the benefits people so they can correct it.
Alight will manage the medical reimbursement and we will be able to check our DDB balance, submit claims, authorize direct deposit, etc. online.
If you need help setting up your Alight account, reimbursement claims, Direct deposit, etc. please email me at emmawahlstrom@aol.com. Terry Gaus has offered to help the retirees who may have questions. I can also help navigate the swamp if you need assistance.
Eileen continues to collect eye glasses for donation to the Lion’s Club. Thank you all who have donated.
Our next luncheon will be June25th. Tell your fellow retirees! Bring a guest!
