It is with great sadness that we must report the departure of a former E-Teamer, Julie Ann Germain of Flower Mound, who passed away on 26 January in Denton shortly after her 63rd birthday on 22 January.

Although the details of her arrival into our midst are a bit uncertain, rumor has it that Julie came to the Garland Division by way of Greenville back in the mid-1980s when both locations were part of the same company (long before Raytheon and L3 entered the picture). With a degree in Civil Engineering applicable to the aircraft structural modification work being done at Greenville Majors Field, she transferred to Garland to work in software engineering on the JSIPS program. She ultimately left E-Systems for a Sales Support Engineer position at Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI) in the early 90s, and became integral to the success of ESY classified programs from the other end of the Supply Chain paradigm. She also did a stint at Seagate High Performance Storage and picked up a MS degree in Systems Engineering from Texas Tech along the way. She had recently returned to academia and was preparing to defend her Doctoral Dissertation this July in the area of Quantum Computing and Communications at the University of North Texas in Denton.
Wow!
Julie lost her husband Gary last summer at the age of 74 after a 19-year battle with Parkinson’s. She leaves behind four kids and two grandkids.
A celebration of life service will be held for Julie and Gary this Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 11am to 1pm at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 704 S Edmonds, Lewisville, Texas 76067.
