We received word earlier in the month that one of the Don Wilsons at E-Systems (and there were a few by that name) passed away on 26 Sep 2026 at the age of 87. Unique among the Don Wilsons, however, this Don was born in Dallas, raised in Garland (a 1961 graduate of Garland High School), and spent most of his career here, never far from his origins.
Don’s memorial service will be held at 1100 this coming Monday, 26 Oct 26 at Williams Funeral Home, 1600 S Garland Avenue, Garland, Texas 75040. Interment will follow at 1300 at the Dallas-Ft Worth National Cemeter
Don was an Army veteran from the Vietnam War era (and we are grateful that he made it out alive after two years in theatre as an Army Ranger). After recovering from injuries he sustained during his tour of duty, Don went to work for LTV Electrosystems, which then became E-Systems before being acquired by Raytheon in the mid-90’s. He worked for the company for 30+ years serving in multiple business management roles and retired as the Director of Finance at the Garland Division in 2004.
Don lost his wife of 54 years this past May, but their legacy lives on through an extensive list of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
